Company History

Metaphor Software is a privately held software development and implementation firm. The company was formed through the dual collaboration of experienced entrepreneurs and cutting-edge technologists. Many of the founding members have a history of successful partnerships in software development, and technology consulting firms specifically within the Microsoft Business Solutions partner channel.

From the outset, Metaphor Software embarked upon a mission to link master technologists with clients facing significant and challenging technical projects. The firm continues to attract best-of-breed project managers, implementation specialists, software developers and technology integrators – who value the highly collaborative environment as well as the level of challenges they face while serving Metaphor Software clients.

While much of Metaphor Software’s work today takes place in client locations, the company also established a Development Center to create complex technical solutions. In addition to several development tools and techniques, the Development Center has produced specific solutions. These include:

FUNDamentals 2008 provides comprehensive fund accounting capabilities to users of Microsoft Dynamics™ AX enterprise resource planning software. This is targeted towards Not for Profit, Education and Government sectors.

Backpack 2008 is a fully functional web-based student information system that provides role-based functionality for teachers, department chairs, counselors, administrators, and specialized departments such as Health and Special Education. Built on Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM, Backpack 2008 provides extensive web portal access for parents and students. This software is targeted to the public K-12 and private schools, but also has application at higher academic institutions.

FUNDraiser 2008 software is a fully web-based fundraising management application that allows you to build a donor database, develop targeted and personalized campaigns, and automate the execution of and measure the ROI of marketing campaigns. Not for Profit and Education sectors are the primary focus.

Metaphor serves a global clientele, and is located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
